Kononnye that morning we wanted to wake up early and walked by the beach befrore we check out. But we woke up a little late just in time to have breakfast and packed our things before we check out. We were told that the cultural performance in Kg Budaya will start at 11.30am but when we reached Kg Budaya at 11.15 it had already started. We missed the first few performances but those that we watched were great enough. The last time I watched the performance was 13 years ago and it did not differ much. I could not recall the dances but the part when the Iban hero invited one of the guest to join him on stage was exactly the same!!! I could recall this because I was the unlucky (or should I say lucky ) one chosen to join the guy on stage If I did not mixed this with other performance, last time the dancers also invited some guests to dance with them during the last song. I think if they still have that it would be a good experience especially for the tourists to dance along some of our traditional songs.
By the time the performance ended, it was already lunch time but we continued our tour anyway. It was fun going into all the houses and learn about all the races they have in Sarawak. Sadly the staff were not there to show us the daily lives of each ethnic. So if you guys wanna go there make sure you do not go during lunch time
After that we went to take pictures in front of Astana. It was built by Charles Brooke (correct me if I was wrong) as a wedding present to his bride Margaret.. Something like Taj Mahal in India. Now it is the official home for the Governor of Sarawak. Then we head to Kuching town to take more pictures.
That night we went to Satok to eat Mee Kolok It tasted like Indo Mee.. The soup taste just like the normal sup tulang we found in KL.
waa brp hari kt kuching nih? tk g jumpa amiey ke? i dun prefer mee kolok, laksa sarawak is much much more better, with lotsa udang-i like!!!
